Bumblebees go Bzzz...

in Richmond this year. Yes, we decided since Halloween fell on a Saturday this year that we would take a trip down to Richmond so she could Trick-Or-Treat with her Cousin Bella. She LOVED it! This was the first time she had ever gone actual Trick-Or-Treating door-to-door. Well, granted, this was only her second Halloween since being born, but last year we stayed in Leesburg for the Halloween Parade. Each year the town of Leesburg does a Halloween parade for all the kids. The floats go by (mainly political related floats, since it is that time of year), throwing candy to all the kids. Our little pumpkin had a great time last year but I will have to say that this year our Bumblebee was buzzing all around!!

First it was off to take pictures of all the kids dressed up in the neighborhood...they were all so cute! Then it was down the street for the Halloween parade, as the kids marched up and back the street in their costumes! And the last stop was a pizza party in the cul-de-sac.

Caroline as you will see in these pics below was mesmerized by all the kids and costumes (even a doggie was dressed up!) She loved Trick-Or-Treating with her Daddy & of course with her Cousin Bella and friends. Our Little Bumblebee couldn't stop buzzing from door to door to collect her treats. It was so cute to hear her say..."Trick-Or-Treat" and to say "Thank You" as each house gave her a treat in her Bumblebee bag. We practice these sayings for a few weeks before the BIG EVENT...and she continued saying this for a week or two thinking these words were magic for getting candy...only to find out that these words only REALLY work once a year! ;~)

Caroline visits not ONE but THREE pumpkin patches in 2009

First stop...the Ashland Berry Farm. While visiting Grandma & Grandad in Richmond, we deciced to take a trip out to the farm for a fun hayride and pumpkin pickin'. The day we went was actually quite warm, unlike your typical Fall day, but we had a lot of fun riding out to the patch and finding the best pumpkins! See for yourself...

On to the second stop...Pumpkinville 2009 in Leesburg with Daddy! This was our second pumpkin patch visit of the season but this time Daddy was along for the fun! We went on another hayride but this hayride was definitely scary! It scared both Mommy & Caroline. Mommy wasn't expecting people in masks jumping out of trailers but it happened and as you can see in one of the pics below, Caroline decided that she may need to cover her eyes! Good Idea! We decided to wait in line to have Caroline's face painted into a little kitty or bunny rabbit...could go either way, I guess. Either way she was the cutest of them all..see for yourself below. Then Daddy & Caroline braved the BIG Slide smiling all the way! Before we left Caroline painted her very own pumpkin. As you can see in the pic below, she had a blast! Luckily, the paint was washable because it was everywhere. In fact, we actually had her ride home with her hands up in the air, so she wouldn't smear the paint all over her car seat. Good thing we only live about 5 minutes from Pumpkinville! ;~) But she had a fun day, and especially liked the creative painting on the pumpkin, so that's what matters!!

Last stop...Great Country Farms with two of our friends. We braved the drizzle and jumped, climbed, and played with all the attractions. It was crazy to see how much Caroline had grown since coming here last year. She was actually able to climb (with a little assistance from Mommy) on the HUGE jumping pillow, that we only sat on with Mommy & Daddy last year. She's such a big girl and I love watching her grow and explore each and everyday. We ended our day together with our friends with a picnic. Luckily, we were able to find a covered picnic table to enjoy our snacks! So, enjoy the pics of Caroline with her friends at The Great Country Farms in Bluemont, VA.

Labor Day...goodbye summer and hello fall!

Labor Day marks the close of Summer activities...pools close and college football starts! Mommy taught Caroline a must know chant for the upcoming Hokie football season. I say, "Let's Go!" and she says, "HOKIES!" I must say she is a natual! Here are the two of us geared up and ready for the HOKIE football kickoff game.
