TA-DAH...The Big Girl Bed

Caroline's very own Bed...no more crib...on to the toddler bed...

Caroline is excited to sleep in her very own bed for the FIRST time!

Caroline saying, "Ta-Dah!"

and more, "TA-DAH's!"

Snuggling with her friend..."Ellie" the elephant will keep me safe!

And Goodnight...sleep tight...my Big Girl's first night's sleep in her BIG GIRL BED! Surrounded by her friends...and snuggling with her favorite, "Pinky-Dinky-Doo!"

"THE BIG GIRL BED PROJECT"

Now, I would like to be able to say that she slept in her own bed ALL NIGHT, but since I am writing this BLOG many months after the FIRST BIG NIGHT....I know what REALLY happened. Many, Many, Many...did I say Many interrupted sleep nights to come. Each night we would hear tiny footsteps scurrying into our room (and of course to Mommy's side of the bed.) Each night Mommy would walk her back to her room and fall asleep on the floor next to her bed. I was beginning to think that I would never get a full night's sleep again. What had we done! But I will say, for the MOST part Caroline IS sleeping in her BIG GIRL BED with her friends each night. No more sleeping on the floor for Mommy...yah! In a way I was a little sad. Another milestone accomplished...no more baby in a crib...now OUR BABY or I guess I should say, OUR BIG GIRL is sleeping on her own! Good for her and Mommy! :)

Museum of Natural History

Back in March, we took a family trip into DC to visit the Museum of Natural History.

This is the first time we had been since the recent renovations. I must say, it was wonderful! Caroline LOVED it! Caroline LOVES animals, so this was her "zoo" as she called it. It was nice spending the day together...enjoy the pics!

Fire Chief Caroline

Last Friday we visited a local fire station with our MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group. Well, it's not too local for us anymore, since we have moved, but I didn't want Caroline to miss out on her Very FIRST visit to a Fire Station. So, we headed out early that morning to meet the other Mommies & Kiddos to explore the Brand New Purcellville Fire Station.

It just so happened that Grandma was visiting with us as well, so she came along for the fun. I think Caroline was a little overwhelmed at all of the sights and sounds of the Fire House, at first anyway. As you will see in the pictures below, she did warm up as time went by. By the end of our visit she was ringing the Fire Truck Bell over and over for everyone to hear!

Introducing Fire Chief Caroline...enjoy the pics!

Caroline couldn't stop looking around at all the sights of the Fire Station

There's that smile...she's finally warming up to the new sights and sounds at the Fire House.

Caroline covered her ears at the sounds of the kids ringing the bell on the Fire Truck.

Caroline with her friends Mai & Ian...what's so interesting guys?

Oh...it's Fireman Andy!

Caroline climbed up in the cab of the Fire Truck to pose for a picture.

Hmm...what should we do next?

Whaddyathink Grandma? You like the hat?

Now, it's Caroline's turn to ring the Fire Bell! Let's just say this wasn't the only ringing of the bell...it rang over and over and over again! I think this might have been the highlight for Caroline.

Calling all units...this is Fire Chief Caroline...we're on our way!
