Caroline Marches with HBCPK @ The Haymarket Day Parade

Caroline's FIRST Parade...well, her FIRST Parade where she actually got to MARCH!!

She LOVED every minute of it!! Caroline is such a social butterfly, so marching and waving while everyone was watching along side the road, was the BEST EVER!! Mommy & Daddy walked with her along with the help of her wagon, which was used b/c someone got tired of MARCHING...it was a L-O-N-G parade walk for an almost 3 year old. Her friend Avery decided that a wagon ride was better than MARCHING, so Caroline shared with her friend and were pulled down the street by Daddy as they waved their school pom-poms together! They were so cute!! It was especially cute to see Caroline's princess wave...so funny!

Caroline is LOVING preschool and LOVES showing her school spirit by wearing her spirit shirt of course! We are also LOVING her preschool and teachers as well. I don't think we could have picked a better place for our sweet Caroline. Here are a few pics of the Haymarket Day Parade with Caroline and some of her school friends. As you will see in the pics, the Daddy's got the privilege of carrying their daughters on their shoulders...lets just say that it was then a L-O-N-G walk back to the car for them! :)

This was definitely a FUN day for all! Here's to many more Parades in our future!!

Love,

Caroline's Mommy

My Ballerina's First Day at Tiny Dancers

Caroline was SO EXCITED to go to her first Ballet class at Tiny Dancers! Her first experience with Ballet was at Tiny Toes when she was 2. It was a Mommy & Me class. But now, she is in the 3 year old class at Tiny Dancers and goes into her class, as she would say, "All by herself!"
She LOVED it!! Most of you know, Caroline is a social butterfly, so heading off to class without Mom is not a problem. I LOVE her confidence!

I do get to watch her perform, which is nice. The studio has a TV in the waiting area where you can view the class. It is so fun to watch her twirl in her cute leotard, tights, and ballet shoes! All of the little girls in class are too cute to watch! She has a preschool friend, (her name is Avery) who is in her ballet class as well. They enjoy twirling and dancing together.

Each week there will be a different theme. The girls get to dress up in character, week to week and dance to the music of the theme for the week. The first story danced to was, "Goldie Locks." I am looking forward to each week and seeing the stories come to life as the girls dance and twirl in their costumes!

I love you my little twirling princess! Here's to many years of dancing!

First Week of Preschool

What a GREAT first week of Preschool it has been!

I am SO PROUD of my BIG girl! She LOVES school! I knew she would. It has been fun hearing all of her stories about her day. From how she has learned to walk in a line with her class with "Bear Hugs & Fish Lips" to seeing so many artistic paintings & colorings! One of the best things has been listening to her sing new songs like, "THE B-I-B-L-E" song and another song that the class sings together before snack each day, thanking GOD for his blessings. So far, I am very impressed with her teachers and school and now see why I had to make sure I was online FIRST thing that morning to register her for class. It is going to be a wonderful year of learning and FUN!! I do miss her when she is gone for those 3 hours, but I know she is having the BEST time with her new friends and teachers. And I have to admit, it is nice to be able to run errands or clean up around the house or even have a little "me" time each week, but I do look forward to pick up time. Seeing her face light up and her sweet voice say, "Mommy" makes my day!!

I love you my Sweet Girl!!
Here are a a couple of pics from her first week!
Enjoy!

Caroline's FIRST Day of PRESCHOOL - Picking up time!

It was noon and Pick up Time for Caroline!
We were so excited to see and hear about her FIRST day of Preschool!

We rushed to her classroom to see her and she came running to me saying, "Mommy!"
I was so excited to see her...she was excited to see me...we had made it through her FIRST day!

She was all smiles along with the other kids in her class. Her teacher said that she did great! She did a great job asking to go to the potty and asking for help on the playground. Mrs. Sawyer said that when they were out on the playground that Caroline was riding on one of the tricycles and couldn't figure out how to get off. She called for Mrs. Sawyer to help and Mrs. Sawyer said all you have to do is swing your leg over like this...and Caroline said, "Oh, that's how you do it!" Mrs. Sawyer said it was so cute to see!

So we asked Caroline about her day and she said it was the best day! She had so much fun painting/coloring, playing on the playground, singing songs, listening to stories about the FIRST day of Preschool and Bible stories, and most of all her favorite part she says was playing with shaving cream on the table! She said that they were making circles in the shaving cream...it was definitely the highlight of her day!

We have been asking different questions throughout the day today and each time we seem to get more and more details about her day. I'm sure this will get harder as the years go by, especially her teenage years, but as parents that's our job right, to ask questions and stay involved in our kids lives. One of the cutest things that I've heard her say today was that they all walked out to the playground with "Bear Hugs & Fish Lips!" She then acted this out as she was telling us...it was the cutest thing! We did get this on video along with some other highlights of her special day. We hope to be able to put some of the video online for you all to see and experience soon. But for now, more pictures from our pickup from Caroline's FIRST day of Preschool!

Oh, and by the way, we asked where she would like to go for lunch and celebrate and Wendy's was the place of choice! A frosty of course was in order for her special day.

Enjoy!

Caroline's Mommy

Caroline's FIRST Day of PRESCHOOL!

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

We're so PROUD of our Big Girl! Mommy & Daddy can't believe that our baby is at her FIRST day of Preschool as I write this BLOG.

Dressed in her Pink & Green outfit with matching backpack accessory of course ;) Caroline was ready for Mommy's photo shoot! Of course Mommy took LOTS of pictures to capture this special day. So fun...

As we walked Caroline hand in hand into her school, I could feel tears welling in my eyes...my baby girl is going to go to school, as she would say, "All by Herself!"

We walked her to her classroom, hung up her backpack under her name tag and got in line for the potty of course. As she was washing her hands, she asked, "Mommy, do you think we will march out to the playground today?" She was SO EXCITED!

So, it was now time for Mommy & Daddy to leave. So, Mommy gave her a BIG hug and a BIG kiss and told her that we would be back to pick her up soon...have fun!

So, Mrs. Hudson (one of her teachers) took her by the hand and walked her into the classroom. Caroline turned around and said, "Bye Mom!" I 'm so proud of her, but at the same time I was trying to hold back the tears! I was reassured by her teachers that everything would be OK. I can't imagine what it will be like in a few years from now when I am putting her on a school bus for the first time...I can only imagine that there will be LOTS of tears shed that day!

As Brian and I walked out of the building to the car, tears rolled down my face. I know that there are days that are challenging to say the least, but I wouldn't change any of this! I am so thankful each day that I am able to stay home with my sweet girl. But, I know it is time (as Daddy says) to let her go (just a little) and let her become her own sweet independent self. It is ONLY three hours! ;)

I want to say a special thanks to Brian/Daddy for being there today to hold BOTH of our hands! We are both blessed to have such a loving and supportive Husband & Daddy! I know Caroline was SO HAPPY to have both her Mommy & Daddy with her on her special day!

As I sit here wondering what she is doing at school (not able to do anything else but BLOG at this point), I know that I shouldn't worry a bit because I know she is having a wonderful time with her new friends (9 Girls & 3 boys, by the way) and teachers. She is such a social butterfly! I am looking forward for 12 O'clock to come, so we can pick her up and hear about her 1st day of Preschool @ HBCPK.

*Special Note to Caroline*

Caroline, Mommy & Daddy love you BIG BUNCHES! We are both so PROUD of the Big Girl that you are becoming. Here's to your FIRST day of Preschool and doing things, "All by Yourself." You will always be our baby girl!

Hope you all enjoy our pics of Caroline's special day! I will have more to come when we pick her up from school later...so check back for more special BLOGGING moments!
