THE MOVE...from Leesburg to Bristow

Uggh...moving...no one likes to think about having to pack up all of your belongings in one place and move them and then unpack everything on the other end! It's one of those things that you think you are all packed and ready for the movers to come, but then you discover all of the loose ends that you have overlooked and frantically have to throw them in boxes in order for the movers to do their job. It was a crazy day to say the least!

And to add to all of the madness of moving, lets make it the month of December, Brian is out of town the week before the move on business, and we have a 2 year old! So, we enlisted the help of our parents in order to get the move done. Pops and Grandma B came up one weekend to entertain Caroline while Mommy & Daddy packed, which helped a lot! It is very hard to pack boxes when a little girl wants to unpack them! ;~) So Thank You. I also want to say a special Thank You to my Mom, who spent the week helping me pack while Brian was out of town. There was a lot to be done! Needless to say, we stayed up late each night and spent our days, wrapping, boxing, and taping all day! So, thank you Mom for your help...couldn't have done it without you.

The movers arrived on December 12, 2009 at 8am. The movers always make moving look so easy! Let's just say that they are well worth the money, especially when you are moving large pieces of furniture out of a townhouse that has many steep hardwood stairs. The move went about as smooth as you can expect a move to go. We did however have to make several trips of our own back and forth in order to get those loose ends that always seem to be left after the massive move is done.

Caroline was a trooper through the whole process. She did have a few days where she would ask about the old house, but she has settled into her new place and now every time we drive into the driveway, she says, this is my new house! So cute! We made sure that we painted and decorated her new room, so she would have an easy transition. We still have a few nights of sleeping with Mommy & Daddy, but I don't think this is because of the new place, I think she just likes to snuggle! ;~)

As I mentioned we moved during the month of December, so we wanted to make sure the new house was decorated for Christmas before we moved in. So, Grandma & Grandad offered to come up and help us decorate our tree and wreaths & lights in the windows, while we focused on painting both Caroline's room as well as the master bedroom. Thank you to them for all of their help! Caroline LOVED our Snowman tree this year...and is LOVING her new room and house.

Oh, and I forgot...Mattie (our dog) had adjusted quite well too...as you can see in one of the pics below, she just wanted to make sure she was "packed" as well!

So glad the moving process is over...I wish you could just blink your eyes and be settled, but no such luck...you have to unwrap and unpack every single box...then you can start to enjoy the new place! We are finally there!

Love,
Caroline's Mommy

Here are just a few of Caroline's toys that were left at the house for her entertainment, while the movers packed up the old house.

And here's our moving company...they did an awesome job!

Look at all that stuff...the movers said that we had A LOT of stuff...and it's true!

And here's Mattie...making sure she gets "packed" into the car!
